Handleiding Nexra Go
| WiFi-naam (hotspot) | Nexra Go Knop |
| WiFi-wachtwoord | knop12345 |
Nexra Go Manual
A quick guide to the Nexra Go (4 buttons). Click a topic for details.
Opening the settings
All settings are made on a web page that the remote serves itself. To connect for the first time you need these default values:
| WiFi name (hotspot) | Nexra Go Knop |
| WiFi password | knop12345 |
| Address on your WiFi network | nexra-button.local |
There are two ways to open the page:
- Via the remote's hotspot (first time): if no known network has been set up yet, the remote creates its own WiFi network. Connect with your phone or laptop and enter the password knop12345. The settings page opens automatically. If it doesn't, open any website in your browser.
- Via your own WiFi network: once you have added a network, the remote connects to it. Then open http://nexra-button.local in your browser. If you changed the hostname, use that name followed by .local.
Starting the hotspot manually: hold button 1 and button 4 together for 3 seconds. This also works when the remote was asleep.
If the hotspot is on but nobody connects, it closes after 3 minutes. Once the last user has left, it closes after 30 seconds. You can also close it with the "Close portal now" button on the page. Change the hotspot password after first use.
The buttons
The Nexra Go has four buttons: a large 60 mm Go button (button 1) and three small 12 mm buttons: Silver (button 2), Black (button 3) and Red (button 4). What each button does is up to you.
Three ways to connect
- USB: plug the cable into your computer and the remote works right away as a keyboard or media key. No driver needed.
- Bluetooth: pair the remote as a Bluetooth keyboard. It then behaves the same as over USB. Enable Bluetooth in the settings first.
- WiFi (OSC): the remote sends OSC messages over your network, for example to QLab. An OSC address can be set per button, and the defaults are already prepared for Go, Silver, Black and Red.
You can enable multiple outputs at the same time.
What you can configure
- Outputs: USB, Bluetooth and WiFi/OSC can each be switched on or off.
- Name: the name of the remote for Bluetooth and for the hotspot.
- Hotspot password: 8 to 63 characters, or empty for an open network. Change this after first use.
- Hostname: the address at which the remote can be reached on your network.
- Sleep mode: after how many minutes of inactivity the remote goes to sleep (0 = never).
- WiFi networks: store up to 5 networks. Find them with "Scan networks" or type the name yourself.
- OSC target: broadcast to the whole network, or a fixed IP address, plus the port (default 53000, like QLab).
Configuring each button
- Key action (USB and Bluetooth): choose a media key (play/pause, volume, next, previous, etc.), Esc, Tab or an F key. Or choose "Learn key" and press the key or key combination you want. You can also have it type a short text (max. 64 characters) or have the button do nothing.
- OSC: switch OSC on or off for this button, enter the OSC address and optionally choose an argument (none, integer, float or text) with a value.
- Test: sends a button press right away, so you can check that everything arrives.
Don't forget to press Save. Changes to the name and hotspot password apply after a restart or the next time the hotspot opens.
Status and sleep mode
At the top of the settings page you can see live whether USB, Bluetooth and WiFi are connected and whether the hotspot is still open.
If the remote isn't used for a while and isn't connected over USB, it goes to sleep to save battery. Press any button to wake it. That button press is still sent, even if it takes a moment for Bluetooth or WiFi to reconnect.
Troubleshooting
- Hotspot not visible: hold button 1 and button 4 together for 3 seconds again.
- No OSC in your software: check that the remote and your computer are on the same network and that the port matches.
- Bluetooth won't connect: check that Bluetooth is enabled in the settings and search for the name of the remote.
